Summer Fayre a Success!
Despite the wind and the rain, this year’s Summer Fayre on behalf of the Association of Friends of Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Court was a great success, raising about £2,000 to support the residents of the Care Home.
Most of the stalls were set up by 1:30pm when the wind and rain hit, casuing two new gazebos to completely collapse, and the re-arrangement of some stalls and covered places.
But everything cleared up by 2:00pm, stalls all ready, when the Provincial Grand Master, RW Anthony Howlett-Boulton officially opened the Fayre. Everyone had an enjoyable afternoon, with plenty of food a drink consumed. All the stalls did well and the overall total finished up at around £2,000. This will be a welcome boost for the Friends of Prince Philip Duke of Edinbrgh Court as they look for funds for the activities and support they provide for the residents of the Care Home.
