Christmas Bazaar opened by Provincial Grand Almoner
The Christmas Bazaar held at the RMBI care home Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Court was opened this year by the Provincial Grand Almoner, Sean Kulan. The Bazaar is usually an annual event run by the Friends of Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Court to raise funds in support of the residents at the Care Home. This is the first time it has been able to run since 2019 though, due to the recent health issues. Previous to that the Bazaar took place at Lord Harris Court.
Sean thanked everyone for supporting the event and explained that the Friends organise entertainment and activities for the residents.
Outside the home were a number of food stalls keeping visitors well supplied with pastries, hot food, mulled wine and mince pies.
While inside Steve Gotting (chairman of the Friends) led the ‘Hennerton Lodge Choir’ to entertain the many visitors with a series of Seasonal songs and carols.
Also inside were a number of stalls as well as a special visit by Father Christmas to the specially constructed Grotto.
Despite the limited space, the bazaar was a great success raising £2,372 for the Friends of Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Court. It was great fun and the Residents all really enjoyed the afternoon.
